ENTERPRISE SUPPORTING CLIMATE SCIENCE

The Foundation Supporting Climate Science (“The FSCS”) is a non-political think tank and a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The FSCS is devoted to cataloging, evaluating and publishing information concerning scientific theories of global warming. This includes related policy proposals and actions, legal and governmental developments and public and private initiatives.

The FSCS believes that climate is changing, as it always has, and that humanity has an impact on climate, but the extraordinary claims of catastrophic global warming requires extraordinary evidence that can be tested and verified which has not been achieved. The FSCS is open-minded with respect to various theories concerning AGW. However, we believe the debate concerning theories of catastrophic anthropogenic global warming (“CAGW”) suffers from polarization, too often leading to automatic rejection of relevant scientific arguments and data. We believe that there are many rational and well-sourced scientific arguments, peer reviewed research and data that question whether anthropogenic climate change has, or will ever, reach a crisis stage. But, this body of evidence is often rejected simply because of its sources and the politics surrounding the debate.

Many scientific institutions, both in government and academia, no longer tolerate scientists who hold opposing views to those of scientists who embrace theories of CAGW. Many of these publications are no longer neutral parties in the debate and have renounced the scientific method with respect to CAGW and will not consider any theories or research that shed doubt on theories of CAGW. They have often done so without obtaining permission from their membership. And, many noted mainstream scientists speak privately with concerns about the quality and veracity of climate research, the accuracy of climate models and the independence of the peer review process but are afraid to speak out publicly for fear of losing their funding or job.

As a result, scientists who embrace theories of CAGW gain all the attention. And instead of identifying their views as theories, they are promoted as the “truth,” that is no longer subject to debate or the need for experimental proof. This, in turn, provides fodder for environmental groups, the media, politicians and others who use catastrophic forecasts as scare tactics to raise funds to perpetuate these theories of CAGW.

The FSCS is particularly concerned about the profound high cost, negative consequences and the very necessity of many of the emerging policies, taxes and social changes now being advocated or implemented in the United States and internationally to forestall or mitigate the catastrophic climate change that is forecast by theories of CAGW.

These developments beg for greater education on climate change and a wider debate of theories of AGW. The FSCS raises and grants funds for this purpose. It is funded by voluntary donations from individuals and institutions. It is expected that at least 90% of funds raised by The FSCS annually, will be granted to eligible organizations each year.

The FSCS supports environmentalism. We believe there is a wide range of very important and valid environmental issues that call for an equally wide range of governmental and societal responses.

We hope you will support The FSCS and help us in our effort to restore trust and balance in the debate concerning the theories of anthropogenic global warming.
